After a frantic drive to the top of Clingmans Dome to catch the gorgeous sunset, we found that we'd driven up into...a cloud. Still not without its charm. The drive down that twisty road in the dark was interesting, to say the least.

The dead Frasier firs are rather tragic to look at (victims of the human-introduced invasive Balsam Woolly Adelgid insects); apparently new spruce firs are slowly growing in to replace them. Does make quite the moody environment for fog pictures, though!
