M27, the Dumbbell Nebula, in Ha and OIII

Still a work in progress, this is about 10 hours of integration time on the Dumbbell Nebula, a planetary nebula about 1200 light years away. "Planetary" nebulae are actually created when an old star sheds shells of gas; at one time they were thought to be a solar system in the process of forming. M27 is the first planetary nebula to have been discovered.

I'm hoping to add more oxygen to the image, you can see some faint traces of "wings" extending up and out from the bottom left. Also, this nebula has significant sulfur emission so I'd like to add that too, and then some broadband RGB so the stars have real colors.
